Clifford Wayne Toler, 67, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Wayne was born August 13, 1952 on Belcher Mountain near Welch, WV, a son of the late Clifford Harrison and Ruby Marie Belcher Toler. Wayne graduated from Welch High School with a vocational degree in off set printing. He worked for 27 years in the coal mines in McDowell County; he then drove a school bus for 13 years before being forced to retire due to health problems. Wayne was a faithful member of the Lorton Lick Baptist Church where he served as usher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, Clifford H. and Ruby M. Toler, Wayne was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Mosko Toler and one sister, Theresa Kay Toler.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie Hunt Toler of the home; stepdaughters, Rachel Benage of North Wilkesboro, NC and Brenda Benge of Moravia Falls, NC; stepson, Joshua Adam Blankenship of the home; step grandchildren, Austin Ellis and Matthew Benge both of North Wilkesboro, NC; and stepsons-in-law, Bryant Benge and Jeff Benge both of North Wilkesboro, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 3 o’clock with Pastor Shawn Braggs officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Elkhorn Church Cemetery on Belcher Mountain near Welch, WV. Wayne’s friends will follow to the cemetery on motorcycles in funeral procession. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Ellis, Adam Blankenship, Bryant Benge, Mike Dickens, Larry Hunt and Mack Hunt.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the building fund at Lorton Lick Baptist Church, 2548 Lorton Lick Road, Bluefield, WV 24701.
