Columbus Bowen, 70, of War passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA.
Born May 1, 1949 in Inez, Kentucky he was the son of the late John Bowen and Sylvia Spence Bowen. He was formerly employed by Aspen Tree Service. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith, and enjoyed working outdoors.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Blakely Bowen, and a brother Von Lee Bowen.
Those left to cherish his memory are four sons, Josh Bowen and wife Sissy of War, Joseph Bowen of War, and Jamie Blakely and Eric Bowen both of Marion, VA; three daughters, Angie Bolen and husband James of Marion, VA, Tammy Underwood of Marion, VA, and Anita Johnson and husband Charles of Johnson City, TN; a brother Billy Bowen of Inez, KY; two sisters, Mildred Mollette of War and Goldie Bowen and husband Frank of Inez, KY; and 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will hold a service to honor his memory at a later date.
