Loretta May Serra, known to everyone as “Sis”, joined the heavenly choir Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11 PM.
She was born in Red Jacket, WV, March 16, 1928 but lived her life in her beloved town of Bradshaw until her health forced her to come live with her son and his family in Gallatin, TN. She never knew a stranger, loved to be around and talk to her friends and family. She was a cook at the Head Start Center for over 40 years and loved the many kids she prepared meals for those many years. She was a regular in the choir at the Bradshaw Methodist Church and was know for her singing there.
She was preceded in death by her mother Cora Lee Hunt Serra and father Alessandro “Angelo” Serra; brothers Gene, George (Jr), Frank, Columbus (Yocko) and Wilson Serra and one sister in infancy, Julia.
She is survived by her son Michael Richardson and wife Judy of Gallatin, TN; granddaughters Alicean John Campbell and husband Cedric of Gallatin, Sarah Souza and husband Jesse of Eustus, FL; great grand children Kaelyn, Lucas and Phoebe and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Audrey Serra of Vinton, VA and Juanita Serra of Raysal WV.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Charles Rose officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield, WV.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning, September 26, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.
