Wilbert Marcum 74, of Iaeger, WV passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 in the Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, in Charleston, WV.

Wilbert was born January 11, 1943 in Welch, WV a son of the late Wallace and Myrtle Rife Marcum.  He was a very friendly and outgoing person and never meet a stranger.  Wilbert was a member of the Church of God in Iaeger and formerly served as a councilman on the Iaeger Town Council for several years.  He was a member of the Iaeger Lions Club and was a huge supporter and fan of the Iaeger Cubs; he was the sports announcer for all their home games for several years and was fondly known as “Voice of the Cubs.”     

In addition to his parents, Wilbert was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace Marcum Jr. and Walter Marcum.

Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Brookins of Warsaw, IN and Tracy Kats and husband Richard of Rochester, IN; two grandchildren, Michael Brookins of Warsaw, IN and Ashlee Haneline and husband Chris of Milford, IN; one great grandson, Liam Haneline of Milford, IN; and one brother, William (Gene) Marcum of Elizabethton, TN.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening after 5 p.m. at the Church of God in Iaeger, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday evening, October 2, 2019 at 7 p.m. with Reverend Jimmy Justice officiating at the Church of God in Iaeger, WV. 

Burial will be on Thursday, October 3, 2019 in the McPheeters Bend Baptist Church Cemetery in Church Hill, TN.    Family and friends may gather at the Church of God in Iaeger, Thursday morning to leave for the cemetery at 11 a.m.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
