KIMBALL, WV – Last Wednesday, the Barrel Bowl Golf Tournament Committee met at Ya’Sou Restaurant in Kimball to present two $5,000 dollar donations to two local organizations. 

Robin Pruitt, Jackie Fairbanks, Lois Godfrey, Marie Scales, Lucretia Ford and Vivian Anderson received the donation on behalf of the McDowell County Commission on Aging while the other donation was presented to Renee Bolden and Rhonda Stover of McDowell County 4-H. 

Each year, the Welch vs Gary Barrel Bowl Golf Tournament chooses two McDowell County organizations to award money, with Mount View High School Athletics being a recipient each year. 

Previous recipients include the McDowell County Humane Society, Mission Ministries, Miracle Mountain Wilderness Park, Stop the Hurt, Inc., the McDowell County Sports Hall of Fame and more.
