Harold Edward Wilson, 77 of Sandlick Road, Bluefield died Sunday evening, October 6, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Randleman, NC.
Born on September 28, 1942 in Bradshaw. He was the son of the late Willard and Ethel Breeden Wilson. Harold was a graduate of Big Creek High School, was a retired coal miner and a proud member of the UMWA and was a US Air Force Veteran. He had the distinction of winning the very first JFK physical fitness award while serving in the Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Gladys Wilson, three brothers, Bill, George and Edward Wilson and a Special Uncle Smokey Joe Wilson.
Survivors include his four children, Joseph W. Wilson and wife Lisa of Princeton, Elizabeth “Betsy” Bailey of Kenova, Patricia “Patty” Walls of Randleman, NC and James “Jimmy” Wilson of Rock Hill, SC;
Seven grandchildren, Bo Bailey and wife Leann, Kassie Collins, Bridgett Wilson, Cody and Zach Wilson, Andrew Wilson and Evan Walls; Four great-grandchildren, Chloee Grace Bailey, Rhett Collins, Capri Collins and Hadley Wilson;
He is also survived by one brother,
David Wilson of Smith Mtn. Lake, VA.
The family has honored his wishes to be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM at the Jesus Church at Bartley.
