Merlie Riffe Hunt passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her residence.

Merlie was born March 3, 1923 in Steeles, WV, a daughter of the late Jack and Rosella Cline Riffe.   

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hunt; one son, Dellano Hunt; five brothers, Hershel, Dotson, Lewis, Issac, and Norman Riffe; and six sisters, Athlene, Azzie, Mamie, Tanie, Eloshia and Janice. She was the last surviving member of her original family.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Hunt of Ikes Fork; three daughters, Bonnie Keneda of Maiden, NC; Lavone Morrison of Steeles, and Lena Gay Lambert of Ikes Fork; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Clyde Endicott and Reverend Robert Hunt officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.  Burial will follow in the Riffe Cemetery on Huff Creek near Steeles.  Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Cline, Robert Hunt, Chase Cline, Bradley Keneda, Michael Morrison, Travis Reed and Cayden Keneda. 

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 12 noon until the time of services.
