WELCH, WV – On Friday, December 13th, 2019, the Jack Caffrey Arts and Cultural Center was transformed by the Christmas spirit into Welch’s Christmas Bazaar.
Local vendors filled the center, offering paintings, soaps, jewelry, food, crafts and more, all aimed at a Christmas-seeking audience.
Near the end of the Bazaar, Lee Dean of Huntington, WV brought Ol’ Blue Eyes back to life to a packed-in audience at the Caffrey Center, singing a selection of Frank Sinatra classics.
During an intermission, Dean organized 4 living Christmas trees made from local Mayors Harold McBride, Adam Gianato and Larry Hairston, as well as City of Welch Recorder Robin Lee. After being transformed with wrapping paper and lights, the crowd voted McBride as best living Christmas Tree.
Dean closed the show with Christmas tunes and received a standing ovation.
