Clydia Jean Kennedy, 77, of Iaeger, WV, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 4, 2020, surrounded by her family, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Clydia was born November 9, 1942 in Welch, WV, a daughter of the late Earl and Blanche Chadwick Johnson. She was married to Barnard Gene Kennedy. Clydia worked as a teacher’s aide for the McDowell County Board of Education, where she touched the lives of countless children over the years. Clydia truly lived life to the fullest. She loved gardening, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Cathedral Church.
In addition to her parents, Earl and Blanche Johnson, Clydia was preceded in death by a brother, Jack “Jackson” Johnson.
Survivors include the love of her life, Barnard Gene Kennedy; three children, Belvia (Timothy) Fuller of Iaeger, WV, Sherry (Allen) Gaminde of Clarksburg, WV, Anthony (Vicki) Kennedy of Mooresville, NC; four grandchildren, Bridget (Shawn) Cabell, Erica (D.J.) Morgan, Brian Kennedy and significant other, Kayla Jones and Jared Gaminde and significant other, Kelia McLain and eight great grandchildren. Clydia is also survived by life- long friends, Earl and Alice Addair.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Russell King officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Princeton, WV. Scott Addair, Chris Addair, Ron Lockhart, Brian Kennedy, Jared Gaminde, Michael Addair and family friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family Friday morning, January 10, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11.
