Melvin Daniel Britt, 72 of Northfork, WV passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Born October 26, 1947 he was the son of the late Paul Daniel Britt and Sally Ann Garner Britt Hussey.

Melvin will be remembered for his smile, the love he shared with his family and friends and his dedication to helping others. He touched the lives of many throughout Northfork and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Pearl Paulatta (Paula) Britt of the home and his dog and best pal, Elvis. Children: Shelia Sutton Moore and husband Robert of Welch, WV. Mark Sutton Sr. of Brushfork, WV. Grandchildren: Laken Gibson and husband Brad of Bluefield, WV. Mark Sutton Jr. and wife Erika of Bluefield, Kelly Sutton of Bluefield and Alia Sutton of Bluewell, WV. Siblings: Clara Ann “Susie” Mabe and husband Johnny of Star, NC. Betty Perkins of Concord, NC. Elvin and Helen Britt of Seagrove, NC. Daisey Lane and husband Clarence of Durham, NC. and Charles “Buster” Britt and wife Penny of Seagrove, WV. Sister-in-laws Linda Scarberry and Beth Scarberry both of English, WV. Brother-in-law Vestal Scarberry and a host of extended family and friends.

In honoring the wishes of Daniel Melvin Britt, cremation occurred upon his passing. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2019 in the Widener Funeral Home Chapel Northfork, WV with Pastor Timothy Hairston officiating at 1: PM. Friends may call from 12: Noon until the hour of service.
