Tommy “Tom” McNeely, 82 of Marytown, WV, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Born March 08, 1937 in Bradshaw, WV,
He was the son of the late Edith Osborne McNeely and Pete McNeely.
Tommy was a member of the Marytown Community Church in Marytown, WV. He was a retired coal miner, loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to many people.
Hobbies included gun trading, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years,
Edna Marie McNeely, and a special daughter, Francis Darlene McNeely along with 18
brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: three sons that love him dearly, Tommy McNeely Jr. and Ricky McNeely
of the home and John McNeely of Marytown, WV. Four daughters that were daddy’s girls,
Debbie Scarberry and husband William, Judy Chaffins and husband Fred, and Janet Graham
all of Marytown. Joyce Chaffins and husband Darrell of Pipestem, WV.
Two brothers: Frank McNeely and Pete “Junebug” McNeely Jr. He was blessed with 12
grandchildren: Melissa Franklin of Bristol, TN, William Roy Scarberry of Welch, WV, Fred Chaffins Jr.
and Robin Walker of Marytown, WV. Jennifer Brown of Hinton, WV, Amanda Brooks of
Pipestem, WV, Brandi Mitchem and Joshua Mitchem of Marytown, WV, and Noah Mitchem of
Bluefield, WV. John McNeely II of Malvern, OH, Thomas McNeely of Cleveland, OH, and
Jessica Klosterman of New Philadelphia, OH, and was a great- grandfather of 28
great-grandchildren of which he had a special bond with. Also, one great-great- grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Marytown Community
Church in Marytown at 12: noon with Pastors Jay Robinette and Sam Prevento officiating.
Burial followed at the Scarberry Family Cemetery in Marytown. The Family accepted
visitors Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 6 until 8:PM at the church. Serving as pallbearers were
