Sarah Jane Edwards Matney, 34, of Panther, WV, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020, at her residence.
Sarah was born January 8, 1986, in Welch, WV, a daughter of Robert Edwards and the late Mary Mullins. Sarah was a very special, loving, kind and sweet woman. She loved her children, her family and friends. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Stephen King books. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her mother, Sarah was preceded in death by her sister, Crystal Mullins; grandmother, Barbara Jenks, grandfathers, Allen Edwards and Thomas Jenks Sr.; uncle, Andy Jenks; and five aunts, Serena Robinette, Barbara Steele, Patricia Jenks, Judy Justice and Hazel Reynolds.
Survivors include her husband Tony L. Matney of the home; four sons, Austin Matney of the home, Richard Dunford Jr., Greg Dunford, and Christopher Dunford all of Princeton; her father, Robert Edwards of Iaeger; one brother, Randall Edwards and wife Kimberly of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Drema and wife Lisa Allen of Kimball and Robin Edwards of Iaeger; grandmother, Clara Stanley of Iaeger; uncles and aunts, Bernard Edwards and wife Roberta of Iaeger, Van Edwards and Rosie of Bluestone, Thomas Jenks and wife Deniece of Pea Patch, VA, Donald Jenks and wife Martha of Big Sandy, Jan Blankenship and husband Timmy of Jolo, Darlene Culbertson and husband Tommy of Mayberry, father and mother-in-law, Roger and Annette Matney of Iaeger; three brothers-in-law, Roger M. Matney and Ryan Matney both of Iaeger, and Steven Matney of Princeton, two nieces Krysta Edwards of Avondale and Nicole Hunt of Welch; one nephew, Branden Edwards of Baltimore, MD; and numerous cousins and friends.
In honoring the wishes of the deceased, her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 7 o’clock with Reverend Sandy Bryant officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening, February 6, 2020 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
