River View Tops Logan 56-45 In Shootout At The Big House

INSTITUTE – The River View Lady Raiders captured a 56-45 victory over the Logan Lady Wildcats Monday at West Virginia State College in the Shootout at the Big House.
The Lady Raiders, who saw a 25-21 halftime lead evaporate into a one point 35-34 advantage heading into the fourth quarter, outscored Logan 21-11 in the final eight minutes to nail down the win.
The victory was the View’s twelfth of the campaign against six losses, while Logan fell to 8-10 with the loss.
Senior guard Demi Lester paced the Lady Raiders with 13 points, while grabbing 6 rebounds.
Fellow senior Kristen Calhoun contributed 11 point and grabbed 16 misfires and freshman Trista Lester chipped in 11 points.
Senior Mouse Blankenship, who is scheduled to sign to play basketball at Concord University today at 2 pm, scored nine points, while corralling 5 rebounds and blocking a like number of shots.
The Lady Wildcats were led by sophomore Peyton Ilderton’s 25 points, with freshman Natalie Blankenship adding 8.
Logan will entertain Winfield tomorrow evening, while River View will visit Man, also tomorrow evening.
