WELCH, WV – On February 5, 2020, Marcia L. Hebb of Welch was formally inducted as the newest member of The Mighty Welch Lions Club that has been serving the Welch area since 1937.
The induction was held at 6:30 p.m. at the Sterling Drive In with Past Lions International Director Bob Browning of the Pineville, WV Lions Club serving as the installing officer.
Lion Hebb is a West Virginian native and the daughter of a minister. She served in the U.S. Army for over seven years and as a Department of Defense civilian for another 12 years.
She graduated from the University of Maryland and from Western Michigan University Law School. Currently she is employed as an attorney at the McDowell County Public Defender Corp. in Welch. She has been connected with the WV State Public Defender Services for 18 years.
In addition to being West Virginia’s newest Lion, she holds the distinction of being the first woman ever inducted into the Welch Lions Club.
