She is the Mother of six children; Irene Anderson, Jean Doss, Carol Wilson, Everet Sigmon, Leland Sigmon, and Kenneth Sigmon. She has 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is still vey active as a homemaker.

•Keystones first black Mayor retires after serving two terms in that community. Samuel L. Johnson, who has been active in many local affairs said he’d be devoting more time to the Baptist Church.
•Contracts for work on seven bridges, installation of traffic signals in three counties and correction of three slides have been added to the West Virginia Division Of Highways March 6, bid opening. Govenor Gaston Caperton has announced. Locally a prestressed concrete beam bridge is called for to replace the Wilco bridge.

•Little Miss Lafayta Makish Ely, is celebrating her first birthday today. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette of Hemphill. Lafayta has a brother who is five years old.

•Miss Gayle Harless, daughter of Mrs. Helen Harless of Welch, was one of the 57 Freshmen at Johnston-Willis Hospital School of Nursing to recieve her cap in exercises held Feb. 6.
