Warriors Defeated by Oak Hill

NEW RICHMOND  – Wyoming East fell to Oak Hill Tuesday evening 56-37 in a Class AA boys’ basketball matchup.

The Red Devils jumped out to a 15-4 advantage at the end of the initial quarter and didn’t look back in notching their seventh victory of the season against a dozen losses.

East did outscore their guests 16-9 in the third to cut a 30-14 intermission deficit to 39-30 heading into the final chapter.

Freshman Chandler Johnson led the young Warriors with 13 points while senior Jacob Bishop contributed 10.

Oak Hill senior Hunter Rinehart paced his club with 21 points, on 7 trifectas, followed by sophomore Jacob Perdue’s 15 and senior Jason Manns’ 14 points.

Wyoming East, now 6-13, will entertain Bluefield Friday, while the Red Devils will be back in action tonight visiting Princeton.
