YOLANDA “DOLLY” CONTE PINTER

Yolanda “Dolly” Conte Pinter died February 18, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital due to congestive heart failure.  She was 90 years old.  Dolly was born on July 10, 1929 in Gary, WV; she spent several childhood years in Bronx, NY and graduated from Gary High School.   She worked at the US Steel Company Store and married Tony John Pinter when she was 21 years old.   Dolly moved to Stewart Street in Welch, WV in 1959 and made a loving home there for 60 years.  She was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Welch where she sang in the choir.  Dolly worked at Welch Elementary School as a cook for many years before she retired to do the things she loved – working in her yard, in her garden, planting flowers, visiting her children and grand-children, and being active in the Literacy Volunteers teaching reading, the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion, the Chaminade Music Club and the Welch Library Book Club.   Dolly loved life and stayed involved, she had a love of knowledge and an endless curiosity.  Dolly moved into The Havens assisted living facility in Princeton in January 2019, where she made new friends at 89 years old and enjoyed craft classes and winning Bingo.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Tony J. Pinter; her parents Maria Demetrio Conte and Frank Conte; sister Beatrice and husband Rocco Jerry, sister Antoinette and husband Jesse Williams and sons Frank and Mario, sister Lena Bright and son Samuel Gus Bright, brother Louis Conte.
Dolly will be greatly missed by those who survive her:  daughter Eva Pinter, daughter Veronica and husband Anthony Scott, son Anthony and wife Mindy, son Frank and his wife Angela, eight amazing grand-children of whom she was so very proud – Jennifer Cable, Joshua Cable, Julian Scott and his wife Kaylee, Sarah Pinter, Elise Pinter, Noah Pinter, Jacob Pinter and Eli Pinter; great-grandchild little Marguerite Louise Scott who brought her much joy these last two years; her sisters – Caroline and husband Louis Berentes and Aida and husband Pete Ramella who spoke on the phone with her every evening, sister-in-law Anne Conte, and cousin Aster Yanesh, many special nieces and nephews, and numerous grand- and great- nieces, nephews and cousins.  
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Havens for the wonderful care and attention over the past year, as well as the staff at a Princeton Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 A.M. from the St Peter Catholic Church in Welch WV; with Father Binny Thomas Mulackal Celebrant; burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.   
Visitation will take place on Saturday February 22, 2020 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Welch
