NEW RICHMOND – The visiting Lincoln Cougars spoiled Senior Night for Wyoming East Saturday afternoon with a 65-30 win over the Warriors.
Lincoln, now 14-7, outscored East in each quarter to claim the victory.
Junior Zach Snyder paced the Cougars in scoring with 18 points, while sophomore Westin Heldreth followed with 12.
The Warriors, who only feted four senior players, were led in scoring by senior Jacob Bishop, with freshman Garrett Mitchell contributing 9 on three treys.
East, now 6-15, will travel to Westside tomorrow evening for the regular season finale for both teams, while Lincoln will host Grafton Wednesday evening.
As a sidelight or two to that game, Grafton’s head coach Michael Johnson is the son of Steve and Paula Selvey Johnson. Paula grew up in Keystone in McDowell County.
Sidelight number two: an assistant coach to Coach Johnson is Gentry Shrewsbury, former star basketball player for the Wyoming East Warriors.
