River View Stopped By Surging Tide

SETH – The surging Tide of Sherman High School swamped River View 66-58 Friday evening in Boone County.
The Tide outscored the Raiders 16-8 in the initial frame before River View bounced back to take a 26-24 lead at the break, thanks to an 18-8 second chapter.
Sherman controlled the second half, leading 45-40 heading into the final eight minutes where the Tide took a three point advantage to finish with the 8 point victory.
The Tide is 11-10 with the win and will host Independence Tuesday, while the setback leaves River View 10-9 with one game remaining in the regular season, at home against Mount View Wednesday.
Five Sherman players scored in double figures, led by sophomore Dalton Rollo’s 15 points. Junior Alex Kirk followed with 13 and senior Chris Abbott dropped in 12.
Seniors R. J. Cline and Brian Busby rounded out the double digits scorers with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Senior Freddie Dawson paced the Raiders with 21 points, while sophomore Daniel Dobbs recorded a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds. Kobe Halstead, a senior, concluded his night with 13 markers.
