All volunteers (unless otherwise assigned) are asked to meet at the Elkhorn Post Office at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

The plan of action for the clean up event covers 4 sections of stream:

• Elkhorn, cleaning all the stream through the Elkhorn community.

• Upper Maybeury, cleaning a section of the stream near the mountain spring along Rt. 52.

• Power House Road, TU volunteers will clean a section of Elkhorn Creek along Power House Road using chest waders to work in the stream.

• Ashland/Northfork, focusing on the North Fork of Elkhorn Creek from McDowell to the confluence with Elkhorn Creek.

If enough volunteers are present, the group will also attempt to clean in the Northfork/Keystone area.

Trash will be collected from the stream and stream banks and placed in plastic trash bags. The bags will be left at the roadside for later collection and transport.

Work gloves and trash bags will be provided to participating volunteers. Bringing chest or hip waders is recommended, but volunteers without wading gear will be concentrated along roads, stream banks and other areas.

Volunteers are also encouraged to bring a change of clothing, water, soap, towel, basic first aid items, and anything else they may need.
