River View Comes From Behind To Down James Monroe

BRADSHAW – In Monday evening’s Class AAA Region III Section 2 play-in boys’ basketball tournament game, the River View Raiders erased a 53-48 deficit heading into the final chapter to take a 74-66 victory over James Monroe to move on to last night’s semifinal against top-seed Shady Spring at Princeton.
The Raiders, now 12-9, outscored the Mavericks 26-13 in the final eight minutes to capture the win.
Junior Chase Porter topped the View offense with 21 points in the contest, followed by sophomore Daniel Dobbs’ 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Senior Kobe Halstead contributed 16 points.
Sophomore Shad Sauvage took game scoring honors with 27 points for the Mavs, while sophomore Cameron Thomas added 12. Junior Andrew
Hazelwood tossed in 10 points, as did freshman Collin Fox.
James Monroe concluded its season 8-15.
