KATHERINE D. LOCKHART BLEVINS

Katherine D. Lockhart Blevins answered the Lord’s call home on, Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

Born in Horse Creek, WV on October 4, 1937, Katherine was the daughter of late George and Essie Kennedy.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Frank Lockhart, brothers, Wayne Kennedy, Dave Kennedy, and Arnold Kennedy, and son-in-law Lawrence Gordon.

Katherine is survived by husband Albert Blevins of Princeton, WV; 4 daughters, Kathy Cook (Doug)of Bluewell, WV,  Karen Rister (Tim) of Flatwoods, Louisiana, Peggy Bates of Nevada, and Julia Gordon of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Jim Lockhart (Julie) of Princeton, WV; two step daughters, Ruth Roberts of Indiana, and Janet Adenauer of Chesterfield, VA; two brothers, Bob Kennedy (Jane) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Donald Kennedy of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Kennedy of Blacklick, OH and Carol Kennedy of Athens, WV.  She leaves behind ten grandchildren, Catherine Raines (David) of Livingston, TX, Cheryl Cook Cline of Princeton, WV; Laura Castillo (Alex) of San Antonio, TX, Amanda Cook of Bluewell, WV, Andrew Bates of California, Bryan Bates (Sophie) of Denver, CO, Destine Horne (Bill) of Tazewell, VA, Leah Gordon Taylor (Hakeem) of Las Vegas, NV, Jarrod Gordon of Las Vegas, NV, and Nathan Lockhart of Princeton, WV.  She also, leaves behind 14 great grandchildren, Kody Raines, and Kassie Raines both of Livingston, TX, Rachel Cline, and twins Wyatt and Brady Cline all of Princeton, WV, Eric Bates of Las Vegas, NV, Donovan Castillo, and Myla Castillo both of San Antonio, TX, Arianna Hodges, Ayden England, Jaxton Horne and Cheyenne Horne all of Tazewell, VA, Illy`onna Taylor, HJ Taylor and son-to-be London Taylor all of Las Vegas, NC and Blake Bates of Denver, CO.

Katherine was a very classy lady. She was a long-time devoted Christian.  She and her late husband, Frank played guitars and sang together in many churches over the past years.  She thoroughly enjoyed playing her guitar and singing with others gathered around.  She was a member of the Church of the Living God and she faithfully served the Lord since she was 18 years old.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Clinton Jackson and Reverend Rusty Mullins officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV.  Burial will follow in the Andy Kennedy Cemetery on Horse Creek, WV.   Doug Cook, Wyatt Cline, Brady Cline, Bill Horne, Tim Rister and David Ratliff will serve as pallbearers. 

Friends may visit with the family Sunday, March 15, 2020, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV.
