Randall Ray “Pinky” Palmer, 63, of Conklintown, WV, went to be with the Lord Sunday,March 15, 2020. Born February 28, 1957 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late James and Juel Palmer.
He was a lifelong resident of McDowell County where he raised his family and worked as a coal miner. Pinky loved deer hunting, taking care of his horses and telling his granddaughters stories. He also enjoyed going to Donald Dillon’s garage in Anawalt where he would hang out with friends and drink coffee.
Other than his parents, Pinky was preceded in death by one brother, John Wayne Palmer.
Pinky is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 40 years, Pamela Palmer, 2 sons, Jason Palmer and wife Misty of Brier Creek, Scotty Palmer and wife Rebecca of Welch, 2 granddaughters, Karli Grace Palmer of Welch and Morgan Jade Palmer of Brier Creek, 4brothers, Robert Palmer (Judy) of O’Tool, James Palmer (Nancy) of Bluewell, Rex Palmer (Carol) of East Bend, NC, Dave Palmer (Kim) of Abbs Valley, VA, one sister, Sandy Grose (James) of East Bend, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws who loved him dearly.
Services will be conducted Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 12: Noon in the Widener Funeral Home Chapel Northfork, WV, with Pastor Pete Green officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, WV. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 6: until 9: PM at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
