The following statement is from Ashland Resort, the largest resort for ATV riders in McDowell County.
To our valued guests, WV Governor Jim Justice will as of midnight tonight, March 20, 2020 shut down all Hatfield-McCoy Trails. Unfortunately Ashland Resort did not have prior notice and are reacting quickly to take care of our guests. We know you have planned trips and made reservations for vacation. Please do not panic, we will take care of you during these uncertain times. For all guests registered at Ashland Resort from today – April 30, 2020 we will be calling each of you in the next three days to discuss your reservations. We will start with the closest date and work out.
Once we take care of immediate reservations, we will continue to reach out to guests with reservations after April 30, 2020. Please understand that this is hundreds of reservations and we will call everyone as quickly as possible.
We have implemented a new cancellation policy to assist guests during this time. Unfortunately we don’t know if this will be a two weeks or two months closing of the trails. As such we will ensure that your reservations are handled with flexibility and care. As always we will take care of our guests. Please see our new policies below:
Existing and New Reservations: All existing and new reservations that are scheduled for arrival before April 30, 2020, can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.
Existing and New Reservations: Any previously booked or new reservation for arrival after April 30, 2020, can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival. Want to secure your spot for Summer or Fall do so without risk.
