Jimmy Wayne Simons, 63 of Algoma, WV, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at his residence. Born March 25, 1956 he was the son of the late James and Betty Simons.

Jimmy was a 1974 graduate of Northfork High School. He was a dedicated volunteer to Toys for Tots. Not only collecting toys but hosting events such as bingo to raise money. Jimmy enjoyed BBQ and cooking for celebrations like October Fest, and the Memorial Day Festival. He was a former employee of Bluefield Regional in Billing and GTE “Frontier”. Jimmy’s sense of humor was priceless and loved to spread laughter. He was a lifelong resident of

McDowell County and will be sadly missed.

Other than his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents and one brother, James “Buster” Simons.

Survivors include one brother, Jimmy James “J.J.” Simons and companion Regina Young of Bluefield, WV and one sister, Carolyn Woody and husband Anthony of Spencer, VA.

In honoring the wishes of Jimmy Wayne Simons, cremation occurred upon his passing. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, March, 28,2020 at 12: noon in the Widener Funeral Home Chapel Northfork, WV with Pastor Timothy Hairston officiating and speakers Lonnie Parker and Mayor Carol Sizemore.
