RONALD “RONNIE” LEWIS MCCOY


Ronald “Ronnie” Lewis McCoy, 70, of Horse Creek Road near Iaeger, WV, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his beloved home.  
Ronnie was born February 12, 1950 a son of the late Oscar Arthur McCoy Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Muncy McCoy.  He was a member of the UMWA and the Two Rivers Conservation Club.  He was an avid lover of his family, his home, the outdoors and wildlife.
In addition to his parents Ronnie was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis McCoy, Oscar McCoy Jr., Pat McCoy, and Frank McCoy and a beloved sister, Lucille Coleman.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sue Ellen Christian McCoy of the home; his children, Machell McCoy Daniel and husband David of Statesville, NC; Ronnie Lee McCoy and wife Kim, of Iaeger; and Tina McCoy Mullins and husband Rodney of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Ronald Shane Daniel and Kelsey Nicole McDaniel of Statesville, NC, Cody Lee and Joshua Scott McCoy of Iaeger, Kayla Sue and Matthew Verner Mullins of Siler City, NC; great grandchildren, Skylar Elizabeth and Rylee Amelia McDaniel, Jessi Elice and Waylon Clay Daniel all of Statesville, NC and many other beloved family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 12 o’clock with the Reverend Leonard Mullins and Reverend C.T. Lilly III officiating, where his history began and his days on earth were spent, at “The Old Homeplace” on Horsecreek near Iaeger, WV.   Burial will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery on Coon Branch Mountain near Iaeger.  Serving as pallbearers will be his son, Ronnie Lee McCoy; sons-in-law, David Daniel and Rodney Mullins; grandsons, Shane Daniel, Cody and Joshua McCoy, Matthew Mullins and nephew Andy McCoy.
Friends may visit with the family Monday evening, April 6, 2020 from 6 to 9 p.m. at “The Old Homeplace” on Horsecreek near Iaeger.
