WELCH, WV – Earlier this week, former Deputy Timothy Vineyard became the Assistant Police Chief for the City of Welch.

“With years of law enforcement background, we think he’ll be a great asset to the City of Welch,” said Mayor Harold McBride about the new Assistant Police Chief. “Our police department is headed in a direction of protecting and serving the citizens of Welch and we think Tim can be a great help with that.”

Vineyard had retired from the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office back in December last year before accepting this new position.

“I’m happy to be on board,” said Vineyard.
