David Lee Harding, 70, of Cool Ridge, WV, earned his wings, Sunday, May 3, 2020 in the Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division, Charleston, WV.

David was born January 21, 1950, a son of the late Troy and Ethel Justice Harding.  He was a physician’s assistant and a United States Army Veteran.  He served two tours during Vietnam, served as an army medic in Vietnam.  He earned several different medals which include, the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and two Overseas Bars.    

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by seven siblings, Noah, Jerry, and Larry Harding, Loraine Toler, Annabell Tolliver, Lena Ellis and Eunice Runyon.   

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Deborah Roberts Harding of the home; one son, Anthony Sean Harding and wife Sarah of Wytheville, VA; four grandchildren, Kayla Marie Webb and husband David of Fairdale, WV, Nicole Harding of Beckley, WV, Emilee Harding of Wytheville, VA, and Carryan Harding of Wytheville, VA; four great grandchildren Davy Webb, Johnathan Webb, Brenlynn Webb and Emerson Webb ; two brothers, John Harding and wife Deanna of Pearisburg, VA and Bill Harding and wife Linda of Lester, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 12 o’clock with Reverend Orville  Setliff officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #1144 following his services.

Burial will follow on Friday, May 8, 2020 in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial Cemetery in Dunbar, WV.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, May 7, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of services.
