Annette Alice Matney, age 61 of Horse Creek WV, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, June 4, 2020 at her mother’s residence following a long illness.
Annette was born June 3, 1959, in Chicago IL. She was the daughter of Rev. Marvin & Edna Kennedy. Annette graduated from Iaeger High School in 1977, where she was a member of the Band of Gold. She joined a carpentry school and the Barbizone school of modeling. She enjoyed having dinner with her family, shopping, four-wheeler riding, laying in her pool, spending time with her loving husband Roger, playing guitar, and singing. Annette was a member of the Horse Creek Church of Living God. She was also known as a people person with a generous heart, who loved to talk.
Annette was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Kennedy; brother Rickey Kennedy; daughter- in law, Sarah Matney; grand-parents Burl & Mary Spencer Cline, Elwood & Pearl Bostic Kennedy, and Gus Roberts.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Roger Lee Matney; sons Roger Marvin (Chasity), Tony, Ryan, and Steven Matney; mother, Edna Kennedy, sister Kathy (Chris) Charney; brother, Ronald Lee Kennedy; grandchildren, Cameron, Payson, and Austin Matney, and Destiny Wigglesworth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, Saturday June 6, 2020 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Sandy Bryant and Evangelist Billy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy Cemetery at Horse Creek. Pallbearers will be her sons Roger, Tony, Ryan, and Steven and grandsons Cameron, Payson, Austin.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 12 noon until the time of services.
