WELCH, W.Va. – The unofficial results for Primary Election 2020 are in, but McDowell County Clerk Don Hicks wished to remind everyone that tonight’s totals would not be complete due to outstanding absentee ballots.
According to the Clerk’s Office, 1,151 Absentee ballots were sent out while 900 were returned to be counted. As of tonight, 251 absentee ballots are still outstanding.
County Clerk Don Hicks said ballots postmarked for today would still be counted toward final, official results. Also, provisional ballots are waiting to be opened by the Election Canvassing Board at a later date.
