Danny Ray Deskins, 55 years of age of Raysal, WV, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at his home. Born April 4, 1965 in Welch, WV, he was the son of Betty Jean Mullins of Atwell, WV and the late Raymond Ellis Deskins.
Danny was an avid collector of memorabilia and fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt. He had worked over twenty years for Winchester Amusement where he had traveled all over the United States and Puerto Rico. He enjoyed spending time and laughing with his family and friends, always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell and was of the Pentecostal faith. A loving son, father, companion, uncle and friend. He will be missed and loved always.
In addition to his father Raymond Ellis Deskins, he was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie Lauderback.
Survivors in addition to his mother Betty Jean Mullins of Atwell, WV, include his children Jamie Carol Deskins of Roanoke, VA, Christopher Scaggs and wife Christina of Salem, VA and D. J. Deskins of Vinton, VA; sisters Ida Proffitt and husband William of Vansant, VA, Faye Stevenson and husband Darrell of Sevierville, TN, Cora Claudine Deskins of Bluewell, WV, Hazel Jenkins and husband Harry of Spartanburg, SC.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends and special family friends Elsie Deskins of Atwell, WV and Marlene Lane.
Funeral service for Danny Ray Deskins will be held at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV, Friday, June 19, 2020 at 12:00 noon with Reverends Charles Rose, William Proffitt, Lacy Griffith and Rick Garlic officiating. Burial will follow in the Deskins Cemetery on Atwell Mountain in Atwell, WV.
Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Family Worship Center, Thursday, June 18th after 6:00 p.m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
