Richard Clayton Johnston, 80, of Welch passed away at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2020.
Born July 11, 1940 in McDowell County he was the son of the late Raymond Johnston and Hazel England Johnston. He worked at Olga Coal Company for over 30 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lusk; two sisters, Doris Stacey and Thelma Vanover; two sisters-in-law, Ercie Collins and Eula Snuffer; and a brother-in-law, Dave Collins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Doris Collins Johnston of the home; a brother, Alan Johnston of Premier; a sister, Dorothy Miller of Premier; son-in-law, Audford Lusk of Cyclone; and special friends and helpers, Kim and Delbert Charles of Premier. He was very proud of his granddaughter, LeeAnn Young and husband Billy of Cyclone, and their two sons who were his pride and joy, Landon and Nolan Young.
Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at Iaeger Memorial Cemetery in Roderfield with Rev. Dan Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
