Dewey Russ, 87, of Welch WV, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley WV. Born July 18, 1933, in Hemphill WV, he was the son of the late George Washington and Nettie Orien Bott Russ.
He was a resident of McDowell County the greater part of his life. He was the parts manager for Yeager Ford. He was a Minister for the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Howard Russ, one sister Georgia Lee Russ.
Survivors include his wife Betty Gills Russ of Welch, one son, Joe Russ and wife Linda of GlenFork, WV two brothers, Jimmie Russ and wife Charlotte of Princeton WV, George Russ and wife Virginia of Craigsville, WV, one sister Norma Hughe of Welch WV, two grandsons, Jared Russ of Brenton WV, Benjamin Russ of Sabine WV.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 12 Noon from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch WV, with pastors Jimmie Russ and Randall Dority officiating, burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV.  Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch WV.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.  Group size must be held to 25 people or less.
