Mrs. Yvonne Juanita Rash Cummings age 69, a life long resident of Gary, WV, who resided at 21 Sunburst Drive, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Welch Community Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born January 28, 1951 in Elbert, WV and the daughter of John and Willie (Rogers) Rash. Juanita was a graduate of Gary District High School and in earlier years joined Miracle Mt. Carmel Church of God in Kimball, WV, where she faithfully served as an Usher. She was a homemaker and had worked as a Home Healthcare Aide for the Commission on Aging in Welch, WV. She enjoyed both baking and cooking and her pastime was spent playing solitary.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert J. “Fats” Cummings on February 8, 2020 and two sisters, Deborah Thornton and Vedetta “Bert” Rash, also her sister in heart, Minister Ida “Libby” Bell.
Juanita leaves heart filled memories to her devoted daughters: Veronica M. Cummings, Tara R. Cummings and Trinity J. Cummings all of Gary and nephew, whom she helped raise, Dwayne Rash Sr. of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Robert Rash and George Rash both of Gary, IN: four sisters: Sandra Watkins of Detroit, MI, Mary (Scottie) Henderson of Columbus, Jacqueline Rash of Boston, MA and Delores (Richard) Richardson of Columbus; her four grandchildren: Rhianna, Cheylan, Omarion and Xzavier; uncle, Judge Montgomery of Newport News, VA and aunt, Estelle Rash of Columbus; several generations of nephews, nieces and cousins; her Church family and friends; which includes,special friends: Mary “Tee” Weaver of Kimball, Ronald (Priscilla) Dalton and Minister Karen Holliday both of Gary; goddaughters, Kishon Vineyard and Crystal Weaver; special daughters: Tonya Thompson, Tanisha Carr and DeEdgra Dewitt; her special grandchildren: Antoinette and King Harvey and NyAsia Carrington.
Juanita’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Miracle Mt. Carmel Church in Kimball with Pastor Anthony Blair officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 6605 New Hope Road Bluewell, WV. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., until the time of Service at the Church.
