Gregory Ray Morgan, 66, of Avondale, WV, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Welch Community Hospital.   

Gregory was born April 26, 1954 a son of the late Hazel Cline Morgan.  He was a retired coal miner and loved fishing.

In addition to his mother, Hazel Morgan, Gregory was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Arnold Morgan; one sister, Pauline Weber; and two brothers, Ervin and Raleigh Morgan.

Survivors include his wife, Daphine Morgan of the home; brother, Jeffery Morgan of Hanover, WV; sister, Ilene White of Garden Creek, WV; stepdaughter, Nikita Kennedy of Paynesville, WV, daughter, Adreana Lester of Lynco, WV, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 21, 2020 at 12 o’clock with Carl Fuller and Jamie Morgan officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV.  Burial will follow in the Lindsey Cemetery at Grapevine, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, Thursday evening, August 20, 2020 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Services and visitation will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines. Mask must be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced, with no more than 25 people in attendance.
