Albert Baldwin, 93, of Newhall, WV, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at his residence. Born November 14, 1926 in Newhall, he was the son of the late David Preston Baldwin and Jennie Agnes Brewster Baldwin.
Albert was a former coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was a Life Member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Philadelphia Church of God in Wytheville, VA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Andrew, Arthur and Fred Baldwin and one sister, Izona Simpson.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife of 70 years Freeda Gaye Billings Baldwin of the home; one son, Rickey Baldwin and wife Lee of Clarksville, VA; two daughters, Cathy Regina Thornberry of Grove City , OH and Susan Ann Baldwin of Columbus, OH; five sisters, Mary Bauguess of King, NC, Lou Tannery and Lucy Weaver both of Winston-Salem, NC, Bernice Gillespie of Dobson, NC, and Rebecca Muncy of Argillite, KY; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the Baldwin Family Cemetery at Cucumber Creek, WV with Pastor Paula Baldwin officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1144 of Iaeger.
There will be no visitation and the services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced. Group size must be held to 25 people or less.
