McDowell Public Library’s Summer Reading Program Deemed a Success, Despite COVID-19 Hurdles

The McDowell Public Library’s Summer Reading Program was a success this year, even if things had to be done a little differently.

Due to COVID-19, the Library could not have group sessions this year. Instead, each time the children checked books out, they put their name in for a prize drawing at the end. They were also able to take crafts home to work on.

Prizes included four Marquee Cinemas movie tickets, four Build-a-Bear gift cards, three Beanie Babies, two basketballs and several other items. Everyone also received gift cards to Wendy’s.

The winners included Blake Hancock, Kaylee & Jenna Belcher, Lillie Vanover, Timothy Hall, Rylee Rose, Olivia Sirbaugh, Phoebe Dudgeon, Sophia Glass, Katelynn Jordan, Zeke & Alice Stephens, Piper & Parker Rose, and Halen Patsey.
