Wyoming East Ambushed At Pendleton County 28-0

FRANKLIN – The Wyoming East Warriors opened the 2020 football campaign by being ambushed 28-0 by the host Pendleton County Wildcats.
The contest also kicked off the Jimmy Adkins era as head coach of the Warriors.
In a dramatic change of events, not to mention locations, East was slated to open the campaign at home against Mingo Central last Friday evening.
When the Miners were unable to play, the Warriors raced to find a substitute opponent and settled upon Pendleton County at Pendleton County, some 185 miles from where they had planned to inaugurate the season.
The Wildcats came away with the shutout over Wyoming East and will visit Petersburg Friday evening, while the Warriors return home to entertain Nicholas County, after the Grizzlies dropped a 29-27 decision to Shady Spring in their season-opener.
Kickoff Friday is set for 7:30 at the War Zone.
