Gridiron Grizzly had a few beads of sweat popping out last Friday after going down 0-2 to open the grid season.
On Friday night, Westside topped Mount View and Wyoming East fell at Pendleton County, putting the Bear in an early hole and causing him to wonder if he had ever opened the season without a correct pick.
The answer was “No” and that would be the results last weekend after River View and Marshall both won to help the Grizz limp to a 2-2 season opening slate.
For this time out, the Bear foresees high school games in this manner:
INDEPENDENCE 30 RIVER VIEW 14
The Raiders take it on the chin in Raleigh County as the Patriots stay unbeaten.
WESTSIDE 25 GREENBRIER WEST 14
The Renegades prove last week was no fluke by stopping a solid Cavalier team.
NICHOLAS COUNTY 30 WYOMING EAST 16
You just knew the Grizz was going to go with the Grizzlies in this one.
In college action:
WVU 49 EASTERN KENTUCKY 10
The Mountaineers win big in their season opener.
MARSHALL 25 PITT 21
A second victory in as many weeks for the Herd at home.
