Leslie Baker, 69, of Paynesville, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at his residence.

Leslie was born June 26, 1951 in Paynesville, WV, a son of the late Wallace and Mabel Kennedy Baker.  He was a member of the Hillville Baptist Church.  Leslie worked for Asphlund for 30 years and drove a water truck for Buffalo Enterprise for 10 years.  He enjoyed playing music, digging roots and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by three brothers, Roscoe Baker, Harold Estep, and Kyle Baker; one sister, Ruth Grizzel Payne; his step mother, Macie Estep Baker; one nephew, Billy Kevin Lester and one niece Tonya Rae Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Barbara Ann Hess Baker; mother-in-law, Linda Hess; father-in-law, Sammy Hess;  sister-in-law, Victoria Sue Hess Gibson; brothers, Denver and Vicky Baker of Charleston, WV, Lyman and Daisy Estep of Jolo, WV, Don and Tiny Estep of Slate Creek, VA, Branscome Estep of Bradshaw, WV, and  Garnie and Evelyn Estep of Raysal, WV; sisters, Doris Lester of Paynesville, WV, Merilyn and Jimmy Kyle of Athens, TN, Ann Mason of Knoxville, TN and Sandy and Larry Dupuy of Duff, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 12 noon with Elder Jerry Stacy, Reverend Charles Rose and Elder Freddy Vance officiating at the Followers of Christ Church at Paynesville, WV. Burial will follow in the Wallace Baker Cemetery on Estep Ridge near Paynesville, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the Followers of Christ Church at Paynesville, WV, Friday evening, September 18, 2020 after 6 p.m. with evening services at 7 p.m.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
