AVERY CLINTON JACKSON


“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Avery Clinton Jackson, 66, of Princeton, WV, passed away early Saturday, September 19, 2020.
Clinton was born April 15, 1954, in Iaeger, WV a son of the late William and Ardella Cook Jackson.  He was a retired coal miner and the pastor of the Johnny Cake Church of the Living God.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by one sister, Truby Sweat; three brothers, Arvil, Hershel, and Gleason Jackson; and one nephew Shawn Jackson.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Susie Jackson of the home; one son, Tony Jackson and wife Crystal of Princeton, WV, three grandchildren, Madison, Aaron, and William Jackson all of Princeton, WV; five sisters, Glada Cline of Charleston, WV, Doris Vanover and husband Estil of Princeton, WV, Carol East and husband David of Indiana,  Sue Addair of North Carolina, and Debbie Jackson of Iaeger, WV; three brothers Acie Jackson and wife Peggy of South Carolina, Cletis Jackson and wife Chris of Iaeger, WV, and Lennis Jackson and wife Donna also of Iaeger, WV; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and church family.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 12 o’clock with Reverend Danny Bowles officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV; special singers will be John and Alma Wheeler. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery on Johnny Cake near Iaeger, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday morning, September 23, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of services at 12.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced with no more than 25 people in attendance.
