ALVIN MULLINS


After a long, hard battle with cancer, Alvin Mullins, 65, of Premier, WV, departed this world to be with the Lord on Monday, September 21, 2020 at his residence.
Born October 30, 1954 in Hensley, WV, he was the son of the late Reverend Deedy and Myrtle Mullins.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Alvin married his best friend and life-long companion, Brenda on September 18, 1974. They spent their entire lives loving each other and teaching those around them what true love is.
Alvin was a retired coal miner. He absolutely loved spending time playing the guitar and singing. He was known for his contagious laugh and endless jokes.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, John Tinney Jr; two brothers, Ernest and Glen Mullins; two sisters, Bonnie Mullins Pertee and Arlene Mullins; a stepson, Eddie Tinney; a nephew, Roger Jones Jr; father and mother-in-law, John and Delphia Tinney; and  a sister-in-law, Laura Tinney Wagner.
Those left behind to cherish Alvin’s memory are his loving wife of forty eight years, Brenda Tinney Mullins; his son, Alvin “Al-man” Mullins Jr; a stepson, John Tinney and wife, Alice; two brothers, Arnold Mullins and wife, Rose and Calvin Mullins and wife, Kate; five grandchildren, Kaiden Mullins, Adam Tinney and wife, Bethany, Angel Tinney and companion, Deshawn “Wackem” Hairston Sr, Nikki Thompson and Dakota Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Natalie and Addison Tinney  and Deshawn Hairston Jr and Daedric Hairston; sister-in-law, Deloris Rankins and husband, John Rankins; nieces and nephews, Kathy Rankins and husband, Ken, Jennifer Rankins, Katherine Mullins and husband, Josh, Arnold Wray and wife, Christy and Colleen Liebl; a cousin, Ruth Barnett; very special friends, who Alvin considered family, Jack and Helen Kidd; and special friend, Carl Lester.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the First Church of God in Davy, Pastor Roy Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 2pm until time of service, Saturday. As Alvin wished, he will be cremated following services.
