It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Irvin of Tazewell, VA, announce her passing. She celebrated her 90th birthday in April and passed away peacefully on August 18th at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. The family wasn’t able to be with her due to COVID restrictions, but she was blessed with great care from the staff.
Eva was deservedly proud of her Bachelor of Science in Education degree that she received from Bluefield State College. She drove long hours for ten years to both BSC and Concord University while raising and taking care of her family. After graduating Eva worked for the McDowell County School Board from October 1964 to December 1972. After retiring she substituted in Tazewell County because she loved working with kids.
The Emmanuel Baptist Church in War, and all its members, was near and dear to her heart. She attended and volunteered with all activities that she could and will be greatly missed.
