Six New COVID-19 Cases Reported Today; 9 Active

WILCOE, W.Va. – McDowell County Health Department Officials have confirmed SIX additional cases of COVID-19 on Monday afternoon September 28, 2020, bringing the overall total cases to ninety-two with nine being active. The six new cases today are all attributed to community spread.

“Our nine active cases are located throughout the county. Please follow the recommended guidelines when you are out in public,” said Health Department officials. “The Health Department is working to identify all contacts to these cases. Anyone who is identified as being a contact will be notified by the Health Department. If you are identified as an official contact by the Health Department, please follow all guidelines given to you. Following these guidelines will help to protect others and helps to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.”

The McDowell County Health Department urges all residents to do your part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing, wearing face coverings, avoiding large crowds, and washing your hands frequently.
