Wyoming East Outlasts River View 51-24

NEW RICHMOND – Wyoming East led River View 22-18 shortly before halftime Friday evening, but senior Caleb Bower scored from 23 yards out just before intermission to give the Warriors a 28-18 advantage and the impetus to outscore the Raiders 23-6 in the second half to claim a 51-24 win.
Bower scored all seven Warrior touchdowns on the evening, six rushing and another on an 80 yard kickoff return, to key the victory, East’s initial win of the season.

The 80 yard kickoff return opened the third to push the Wyoming East lead to 36-18 following sophomore Chandler Johnson’s conversion run.
Rover View was led by a pair of Austin Cooper TD jaunts, from 8 and 6 yards, a Josh Proffitt 80 yard kickoff return in the second and a scoring strike from Mikey Picklesimer-to-Daniel Dobbs that covered 23 yards.
East, now 1-4, will visit Shady Spring Friday evening, while the Raiders will be idle after a positive covid-19 test Friday has sidelined on-site school classes, as well as sports, this week.
River View is 3-2 on the season.
