Larry J. “Bones” Dotson, 64, of Coon Branch Mountain near Iaeger, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in the Cabell Huntington Hospital Burn Unit of an unexpected heart attack.
He was born November 12, 1955 in Iaeger, WV, a son of Luther and Hazel Bailey Dotson.  He was the oldest son but was always Mommy’s baby. 
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Troy and Claudia Dotson; maternal grandparents, Noah and Bessie Bailey; a brother-in-law, William McBryde; and a niece Courtney McBryde.
Survivors include his parents, Luther and Hazel Dotson of Bull Creek; two sons, Eric Dotson and wife Cynthia of Princeton and Joseph Dotson of Greenville, SC; two daughters, Kara Beth DellOrso and husband Chris of Bristol, TN, and Reagan Stafford of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Caleb and Bristol Dotson, Gracie, Weston, and Harrison DellOrso , Duke and Ford Dotson; brother, Michael Dotson and wife Shelba of Falls Mills, VA and Tracey Dotson and wife Michelle of Iaeger; three sisters, Gayetta McBryde of Bradshaw, Cathy Cline of Iaeger, and Connie Tester, of Lillington, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 2 o’clock with Reverend Lawyer Bailey Jr. officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery at Mohawk.  Tracey Dotson, Michael Dotson, Larry VanDyke, Mark Daniel, Jeff Dotson and Jeff Mullins will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Roberts and Lucas Matney.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced with no more than 25 people in attendance.
