River View Builds Early Lead On Way To 42-20 Win At Pikeview

GARDNER – The River View Raiders led 20-0 after the initial quarter Friday evening and stretched that advantage to 26-0 in the second en route to a 42-20 victory over the host PikeView Panthers on Senior Night.

Sophomore Mikey Picklesimer rushed 13 times for 100 yards and one touchdown and added a second six-pointer on an 80 yard fumble recovery return before leaving the contest with an ankle injury.
Senior Austin Cooper took over the signal-calling chores and finished his evening’s work with 154 yards on 18 touches, along with a pair of TD runs, for the now 4-2 Raiders.

Senior Cody Vance and junior Wyatt Blankenship added a score apiece to the six touchdown Raider scoring, as River View rolled up 323 rushing yards on 47 attempts.
Blankenship started the scoring with a two yard run in the first, followed by a nine yard Picklesimer bell-ringer and capped off by Picklesimer’s scoop-and-score late in the frame.
Cooper’s eight yard rush for six pushed the View advantage to 26-0 before the pass-happy Panthers found the end zone.
Peyton Greer broke the ice with a 17 yard scoring catch from senior QB Tyler Meadows, who missed last week’s game at Mount View with an injury, before Meadows connected with Dylan Blake on a 26 yard TD pass to cut the Raider lead to 26-12 at intermission.
Meadows completed 17=of=29 aerial attempts for 201 yards and a final score to Blake from 11 yards away as the game clock ran down.
Cooper tacked on a 21 yard touchdown run in the third and Vance added a 3 yard run for six in the fourth for the Raiders.
The Raiders will be off this week before visiting Mount View on Election Eve next Monday.
PikeView, now 1-5, had its scheduled game this week with Nitro scrubbed due to the coronavirus Metrics Map.
