HAMLIN – Games like the Mount View-Lincoln County football game have often been described by a play on words of Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities with a Tale of Two Halves.
If that was the case in an analogy for Tuesday evening’s grid contest, those two cities would not have been in the same hemisphere.
The visiting Golden Knights took a 20-14 advantage into the locker room at intermission and had to be feeling pretty good about their chances.
After a mere 20 minute break, those feelings could not have been farther from the truth, as the Panthers outscored the View 29-0 in the second two dozen minutes to claim a 43-20 victory in the first ever meeting on the gridiron between the two schools, effectively eliminating the Golden Knights’ playoff hopes for 2020.
Information on the game was not available at press time, but a wrap up will be in Friday’s Welch News.
