BIG SANDY, W.Va. – Fall River Elementary School is proud to announce that Blane Sturgell, a 5th grade student at Fall River Elementary, was recently elected as the West Virginia State Elementary BETA President.

This honor is the first for Fall River and for McDowell County Schools.
He will represent the state of West Virginia at the National BETA Convention in Orlando, Florida this summer.

The BETA organization is a national honor society that recognizes academic achievement and community service. Their motto is: “Let us lead by serving others.”
