16 More COVID-19 Cases Confirmed, Attributed to Community Spread

WILCOE, W.Va. – McDowell County Health Department Officials have confirmed 16 additional cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday afternoon November 24, 2020, bringing the overall total cases to 601 with 357 being active. The 16 new cases today are attributed to community spread. Our 357 active cases are located throughout the county.

Currently, 10 of our active cases are hospitalized with 1 of those being on a ventilator.

The Health Department is working to identify all contacts to these cases. Anyone who is identified as being a contact will be notified by the Health Department. If you are identified as an official contact by the Health Department, please follow all guidelines given to you. Following these guidelines will help to protect others and helps to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

PLEASE follow the recommended guidelines when you are out in public. The McDowell County Health Department urges all residents to do your part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing, wearing face coverings, avoiding large crowds, and washing your hands frequently.
